The Club
Four rooms, one floor, no music.
The club occupies the first floor of a post office built in 1908 and left largely alone since. We took out the suspended ceiling, kept the parquet, and put back a room-by-room plan that the building had before the counters arrived.

The Hall
148 m² · Oak parquet · Two windows onto the courtyard
The first room after the door and the largest. Open floor for warm-ups, carries, sled work and anything that needs distance. It doubles as the room people sit in when they arrive early; there are two chairs by the north window and nothing else.
The building
Landwehrstraße 47 was a sorting hall until 1974 and a furniture warehouse until 2014. The parquet under the strength room is the original oak laid for the postal clerks; the two pendant lamps in the hall came out of the same building's stairwell.
The conversion took nineteen months and was done by a Munich firm that ordinarily restores concert halls rather than gyms. Their brief was acoustic before it was anything else: every room is lined so that a dropped plate is heard as a thud and not a crash, and no room shares a wall with the street.

The floor is staffed at all times. Members hold a key card; the club is not accessible outside these hours.

Getting here
Six minutes on foot from Hauptbahnhof, four from Sendlinger Tor. There is no car park. Bicycles go in the courtyard through the gate to the left of the entrance.
