Terms of Membership
General terms and conditions (Allgemeine Geschäftsbedingungen) of MERIDIAN Athletic Club GmbH, Landwehrstraße 47, 80336 München, for memberships, coaching hours and recovery subscriptions. Version of 1 September 2026.
§ 1 Scope
These terms apply to all contracts between MERIDIAN Athletic Club GmbH (the club) and its members and guests. Deviating conditions of the member do not apply unless the club has agreed to them in writing. Nothing on this website constitutes an offer capable of acceptance; the club's website is an invitation to apply.
§ 2 Formation of the contract
Membership is granted by application only. An application creates no entitlement to membership. A contract comes into existence when the club confirms the membership in writing, stating the start date, which is always the first day of a calendar month. The club may decline an application without giving reasons, in particular where the roll of 120 members is full.
§ 3 Fees
The monthly membership fee is €249 including statutory VAT. The founding membership is €2.900 per year including VAT and its fee is fixed for as long as the membership is continuously held. A guest day costs €60 including VAT and is set off against the first monthly fee if a membership follows within three months. The recovery suite is €79 per month including VAT in addition to the membership. Coaching hours cost €95 each and body composition scans €95 each, both including VAT. Nutrition plans are priced at €120, €290 and €480 including VAT as set out on the Coaching page. There is no joining fee.
§ 4 Payment
Monthly fees are collected by SEPA direct debit on the third working day of each month; the pre-notification period is shortened to one day. Annual fees are payable within fourteen days of invoice. Where a direct debit is returned for a reason the member is responsible for, the member bears the bank charges actually incurred.
§ 5 Term and notice
The monthly membership runs from month to month and may be terminated by either party with one month's notice to the end of a calendar month, in text form. The founding membership runs for twelve months and renews for twelve months unless terminated with three months' notice to the end of the term. The recovery subscription follows the notice period of the membership it is attached to. The right to terminate for good cause remains unaffected.
§ 6 Suspension
A member may suspend the membership twice within any twelve months for one calendar month at a time, on grounds of illness, injury, travel or work, by notifying the office in text form before the month begins. No fee is charged for a suspended month, the place is held, and the suspended month is not counted against the roll.
§ 7 Use of the club
Members undertake to return equipment to its place after use, to take telephone calls outside the training rooms, and to follow the instructions of staff on the floor. The club may exclude a member from the premises for a stated period, and in serious or repeated cases terminate the membership for good cause, where conduct persistently disturbs other members or endangers anybody.
§ 8 Guests
A member may bring a guest on a guest day arranged in advance by telephone. The member is present throughout and is responsible for the guest's conduct. No more than four guest days are taken in the building in any one week.
§ 9 Health
Members train on their own responsibility. Members confirm on joining that no medical circumstance known to them prevents them from training and undertake to inform their coach of relevant changes. Coaching, nutrition plans and recovery services are not medical treatment and do not replace medical advice or physiotherapy.
§ 10 Liability
The club is liable without limitation for injury to life, body or health caused by a negligent or intentional breach of duty by the club, its legal representatives or its agents, and for other damage caused by intent or gross negligence. In the case of slight negligence the club is liable only for breach of a material contractual obligation, and then only for foreseeable damage typical of the contract. Liability for items left in lockers is limited to items of ordinary value; money and valuables should be deposited at the office.
§ 11 Opening hours and closures
The opening hours published on this site apply. The club may close for up to ten days a year for maintenance, and on public holidays in Bavaria, without a reduction of the fee. Closures are announced at least fourteen days in advance except in cases of emergency.
§ 12 Changes to fees and terms
The club may adjust fees once in any twelve months to reflect increases in its own costs, giving at least two months' notice in text form. A member who does not accept an increase may terminate the membership with effect from the date the increase would take effect.
§ 13 Data protection
Personal data is processed as set out in the privacy policy on this site, which forms part of these terms by reference.
§ 14 Final provisions
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The place of jurisdiction is München where the member is a merchant, a legal person under public law or has no general place of jurisdiction in Germany. Should any provision be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions is unaffected.
